Monday April 6, 2020 the Neshanic Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched with the Hillsborough fire district for a brush fire behind Ann Van Middlesworth Park. Brush 48 and Tanker 48 responded to assisted units from Flagtown Fire, Hillsborough Fire Company #2, Woods Road Fire, and the New Jersey Forest fire service in containing and extinguishing the large fire.

Crews from Station 48 spent a majority of last night and the early hours of this morning on a mutual aid assignment in Bound Brook on a multi-alarm structure fire. Brush 48 was requested to assist in extinguishing spot fires in remote locations while Tender 48 was assigned to SCTF 3 then later to SCTF 1 providing coverage to surrounding municipalities. On the afternoon of June 27, Station 48 was dispatched to Fairview Drive for the overturned motor vehicle. Upon arrival crews found a minivan on its roof and preceded to set up a safety perimeter until the tow company could arrive to remove the vehicle.

Stations 48 and 32 were dispatched to Highway 202 in the area of Whiton Road for the MVA. Crews on scene worked quickly to secure power to the vehicle and control leaking fluids. Crews awaited the arrival of the tow company to remove the vehicle and cleared the scene without incident.

Neshanic Vol Fire Co and the Hillsborough Fire District were dispatched for the chimney fire. On scene Deputy 37 advised of a working fire in the chimney with possible extension into the structure. The fire was extinguished quickly and overhaul was completed to save the structure. Great job by all on scene.

Stations 48 and 36 were dispatched for the large brush fire in the woods. Suppression was handled by crews from 48, 36, Hillsborough Fire Safety and assisted by the NJDFFS.

NVFC responded into Branchburg to establish an LZ for a Northstar Medevac for the injured ATV rider. Crews established a safe area for the Northstar to land and transport the patient to the hospital.

On a cold, snowy night in January, the Neshanic Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched with the Hillsborough fire district for the working structure fire.  Crews were able to make a quick knock on the fire and save the structure. Great job by all those on scene.

Late in the evening on October 24, the Hillsborough Fire District was dispatched for the working structure fire on Farm Road. First arriving crews had heavy fire pushing from the second floor and reports of people trapped inside. Primary searches were completed and crews worked feverishly to bring the fire under control. The afternoon of June 27 was a hot one in more ways than one. After an initial dispatch of smoke from under a deck, things escalated quickly to a fully involved structure fire. Asst. Chief 48 was the first to arrive and had heavy fire coming from the three sides of the structure. Early in the morning on April 8 the Hillsborough Fire district was dispatched with the Neshanic Fire Co to the intersection of Amwell Rd and River Rd for the working structure fire. First arriving units found fire coming from the rear of the structure and went to work on suppression. After a quick knock and some ventilation, the historic structure was saved. Great job by all units working on scene.

Neshanic Fire and Readington Fire were dispatched for the MVA, car against a fence on Rt 202 North. Units arriving on scene found an SUV against a chain link fence in a retention basin at the PSE&G Switching Station. Crews secured the scene and assisted the tow company in removal of the vehicle. This accident was on the same site and a large transformer explosion two years earlier.

Early 2016 would be a busy year for Neshanic Fire. Minutes after Hillsborough Fire Co. #2 would get dispatched to the GSA Depot on Rt. 206 for a water flow alarm, the assignment would be upgraded to a full working commercial fire. Neshanic would be responding with the rest of Hillsborough Fire District to one of the largest fires in New Jersey history. The guys from 48 Fire were back on the job again two weeks later. Just before 3:00AM on Saturday January 16, the call came in for a barn fire on Amwell Road. Deputy 48 immediately called for the second alarm being able to see the flames from his front door. Neshanic, along with the rest of Hillsborough Fire District, rolled up on a fully involved barn with flames reaching high into the early morning sky. 2016 picked up right were 2015 left off with an early morning mutual aid request into Three Bridges for the working structure fire. Tanker 48 and Engine 5 were requested to the scene to supply water and manpower. When water supply became an issue, a request for 48’s new mini-pumper was made to draft from the bridge over the Raritan River to supply the scene. Unfortunately the structure was not able to be saved. All units were cleared from the scene by early afternoon.

On Wednesday December 23 the 48 Fire was dispatched for the motor vehicle fire in a garage on Lehigh Rd. On arrival, Deputy 48 updated the call to a fully involved car fire with possible extension into the structure. A full 1st alarm was struck and crews went to work extinguishing the fire and removing the vehicle from the garage. Early on the morning of December 7 the Neshanic Vol. Fire Company responded to the report of a working structure fire on Fairview Drive. On arrival crews found a fire on the outside of the building that had extended into the structure. Crews from Neshanic, along with Readington and Country Hills worked to extinguish the fire and complete overhaul. Great save by all firefighters working on the scene.

On the afternoon of November 16, the Neshanic Volunteer Fire Company along with Station 36 and 79 Rescue responded to the overturned motor vehicle on Amwell Road. Chief 48 was first to arrive and assumed command advising of one vehicle on its side and another with one occupant inside and light entrapment. Crews from 79 Rescue performed the extrication on one vehicle while crews from Engine 36 and Engine 48-5 stood by with a charged hand line to protect the overturned vehicle that was leaking fue...

At 4:58am on Monday October 26 the Neshanic Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched for mutual aid into Bridgewater for the working structure fire. Chief 48 responded with crew in Mini-Pumper 48. Crew from MP-48 stood by in the manpower pool until released by command shortly after 6:00am.

The Neshanic Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched at 9:01 am as part of a tanker task force to a structure fire at 10 Honyman Street in Franklin Township. Tanker 48 was at the scene until approximately 11:15 am.
