Memorial Day Parade
Wednesday, May 20th, 2020

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the usual Memorial Day parade and ceremony cannot take place. Instead, we will host a procession of emergency vehicles from Branchburg, Hillsborough, Montgomery, and Three Bridges. The procession will follow the normal parade route of Maple Avenue to Pearl Street to Olive Street and end at Pleasant Run Road. This procession will be filmed passing the firehouse and the video will be shared on social media and cable television channels. Branchburg Mayor Tom Young, Hillsborough Mayor Doug Tomson, and New Jersey Senator Kip Bateman will be sharing some remarks as part of the video presentation.

Immediately following the Neshanic Station procession, Branchburg fire companies are planning to continue with a “wave parade” throughout Branchburg Township. The route is Pleasant Run Road to South Branch Road to Whiton Road to Old York Road to Stony Brook Road to Baird Road to Readington Road to Narraganset Road, terminating by Silver Saddle Swim Club.

There will not be a formal ceremony this year. Any group wishing to place a wreath by the firehouse flagpole can do so any time on Sunday, May 24 or Monday, May 25. As always, we encourage youth organizations to plant flowers at gravesites to honor our veterans.
